Data Bureau expands into the Pacific

Data Bureau is currently setting up operations in Tonga, Vanuatu and Samoa. With its partner Insoft International, the company’s software supplier, both companies are appreciative of the assistance received from

the International Finance Corporation ( an arm of the World Bank), who are actively negotiating with the

relevant governments and finance industries to bring the Credit Bureaus into

existence. Operations in Tonga will commence on the 1st July, 2011. Data Bureau is optimistic that the other bureaus will be in operation by the end of 2011.

$12million debts recovered in Fiji

A significant increase in the debt recoveries for the year ending in June, 2011 for Data Bureau's members.  The Credit Bureau recorded  over 9900 debtors settling/paying their debts.  Just over $6million for the same period last year was recorded.  This is a clear indication that information sharing is the only way to avoid risky customers.  The network that the Credit Bureau took years to build is now paying off.  There is "zero tolerance" on customers that have outstanding debts who are wishing to obtain credit from our members.  Customers are made to pay off their debts first before applying for credit, this is the message that all our members are telling their potential customers.
